Universal protection device 7SX82

The universal protection device is especially designed with the highest degree of flexibility within one device type for protection, control and automation in the medium voltage and distribution grids with 3-pole tripping.

Applications

  • One device type capable for protection and automation of all types of feeders, lines, motors, and capacitor banks, with 3-pole operation
  • One device type capable for the following main protection functionalities:
    overcurrent protection, distance protection, line differential protection, motor protection, and capacitor bank protection and all associated automation functions

Scope and adoption of Functionality

  • The universal device can be ordered with a license file to already support the desired specific application
  • Alternatively, the universal device can be ordered with a license file supporting only a minimum base functionality (with minimum price), not yet containing main protection functionality (for stock and spare part scenarios)
  • The universal device functionality can be adopted / expanded (via the device license file) by the user at any time within minutes, when the application is determined or changing

Housing
