Description of the power distribution board

The sheet-steel-enclosed low-voltage switchboard must be delivered as a design-verified low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assembly in multiple cubicle design for

  • side-by-side installation
  • corner installation

ready for connection.

The following descriptions are integral parts of the calculation and the contract. They must be considered in the descriptions of the individual systems and operational equipment, even if they are not mentioned in detail anymore.

Construction

The configuration, the mechanical and electrical design as well as the tests must be performed in accordance with the manufacturer's stipulations.

The configuration of the switchboard must be computer-aided and documented.

Frame and enclosure

The frame parts must be made of 2.5 mm thick sheet-steel profiles with hole lines all around with a hole pattern of 25 mm. Enclosure parts and doors are made of 1.5 mm thick sheet steel. Frame components, roof plates and rear walls are made of sendzimir-galvanised sheet steel, which ensures an application-safe earthing of the components through self-tapping screws. Doors, side walls and covers must be made of powder-coated sheet steel. All frame components must be bolted together, covering parts are fixed to the frame using self-tapping screws.

The doors must be equipped with arc-resistant locks, and shall have a door opening angle of 125° for side-by-side installation of the cubicles (180° with stand-alone installation). The door hinge must be executed in an easily changeable design to allow an adaptation to the stipulated escape direction.

The roof plates of the switchboard must be equipped with a pressure relief.

Connection

Connection must be possible from above and from below. To fasten the cables, propping bars must be mounted in the cubicles.

Busbar system

All busbar connections must be maintenance-free throughout the entire service life.

In standard position, the main busbars are arranged in the upper part of the cubicle.

The neutral conductor and PEN conductor bars are spatially assigned to the phase conductor bars.

The protective earth conductor bars (PE) must be arranged in an easily accessible way in the front area of the cubicle.

Transport units

Suitable transport units must be formed for all cubicles.

At the place of installation, the busbars must be joined by means of design-verified links.

The joints must be made accessible via assembly openings, and must be covered safe-to-touch after installation.

Labelling

The cubicle and feeder designations must be implemented with a uniform labelling system.

The switchboard cubicles are to be understood as delivered, completely assembled, including all necessary accessories.
