Arc Protection device 7XG35

The Arc Protection device is used in conjunction with optical sensors to provide arc fault protection for medium or low voltage air insulated switchgear, panels.

Application

  • Arc Protection device is connected with light sensing optical sensors installed in busbar, circuit breaker, cable compartments
  • Arc Protection device provides a straightforward retrofit solution to

existing switchgear installations to improve safety and protection performance.

Features

• Rapid fault detection with operating times typically between 2 to 7 milliseconds

• Zone-based selective tripping for enhanced system coordination

• Supports configuration of up to four independent protection zones

• Compatible with both new switchgear installations and retrofit applications

• Optionally integrated current inputs to allow current check criteria

• User-friendly configuration via PC-based software tool using USB-C interface:

– Software available at no additional cost

– Supports both online and offline configuration modes

• Fast response time helps reduce risk of injury and limits equipment damage

• Cost-effective solution for implementing or upgrading arc flash protection

• Integrated data logging capabilities:

– Storage for up to 100 event records

– Up to 5 fault records with time-stamped data

• Real-time monitoring of sensor status, input/output signals, and current measurements

• Simplified device installation process:

– Compact enclosure design

– DIN rail mounting support

– Plug-in, detachable wiring terminals
